Uptick DSM LLC is a small, family-run business in Des Moines, Iowa. We do not sell your personal information, we do not run advertising networks, and we collect as little as we can get away with. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what we do collect and what happens to it.
Who we are
This policy covers Uptick DSM LLC ("Uptick DSM", "we", "us") and the brands we operate, including Uptick Consulting, Uptick AV, Midbar Moon, DWR Music, MotiveAF and Hobby-to-Jobby. It covers this website (uptickdsm.com), our social media pages, and the software tools we run for our own accounts.

What we collect, and why

We do not ask for, and have no use for, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or any of the special categories of personal data. Please don't send them to us.
Payments
We never see or store your full card number. Payments run through our payment processors (such as Payhip, Square, Stripe or Printify, depending on the store), who handle card details under their own privacy policies and security standards.
Children
Our sites and stores are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
About our social media tools
Uptick DSM LLC builds and runs internal software that publishes posts to our own Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts on a schedule, using Meta's official APIs.
These tools are for our own accounts only. They are not offered to the public, they do not sign anyone else in, and they do not read, collect, store or process the personal data, profile information, friend lists or private messages of any Facebook or Instagram user. The only data they touch is our own posts, our own Page details, and the access token Meta issues to us — which is stored as an encrypted secret and never shared.
If you interact with one of our posts, that interaction is handled by Meta under Meta's own Privacy Policy, not by us.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not run advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Some pages embed third-party services — a Google Form, an embedded store, or a music or video player — and those services may set their own cookies when the page loads. Your browser settings can block or clear cookies at any time.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we don't intend to. We share it only with the service providers who make the business run, and only as much as they need:
- Payment processors — to take payment (Payhip, Square, Stripe, Printify).
- Fulfilment and shipping partners — to physically send you what you ordered.
- Email, hosting and form providers — Google Workspace, Cloudflare and similar, to run the site and reply to you.
We will also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and messages — up to 2 years after we last spoke, then deleted.
- Order and transaction records — 7 years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
- Mailing-list subscriptions — until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send.
Your rights, and how to delete your data
Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you,
- correct anything that's wrong,
- delete it,
- stop using it for marketing, or
- send you a copy of it.
How to request deletion
Email david@uptickdsm.com with the subject line "Data deletion request", and tell us the email address, phone number or order number you used with us.
We will confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (order and tax records, as above). There is no charge for this.
If you are in the EU or UK you have these rights under the GDPR and may complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California you have equivalent rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access tokens and credentials are stored as encrypted secrets, never in plain text and never in any file we share. Access to customer records is limited to the owner of the business. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small, which is the best protection there is.
Other people's websites
Our pages link out to stores and platforms we don't control — Payhip, Printify, Square, Etsy, Faire, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram among them. Once you're on their site, their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant and we have your email address, we'll tell you directly.
